last.fm a music social networking site

Before u a complain about it being yet another social networking site something that makes last.fm unique is that it tries to link people through the music. A small app analyzes the music u play and send it to the server(called scrobbling) finds users playing the same music at the same time. The tags for Indian music are somewhat limited but it also gives a nifty code to display recently played or most played tracks for your blog/myspace/facebook profile.

this is a very popular tag hence i decided to write up on this.. its does stray from the purpose statement of this blog nevertheless i couldn't help it.

1.Socialization:- I'm a pretty shy person who doesn't chat much in groups or in public places. but i can talk like there's no tomorrow if i'm alone with someone i know on the most dumb topics. duuno why but i am always distracted and looking somewhere else and dont make eye contact in a big group.And my online skills aren't any better either!.You'll rarely see me an yahoo or gtalk(try to change though!)

2.Public Transport:- even though the transport i most commonly use is an auto!, somehow i find something strange and romantic while traveling in a large public transport system like a bus or train. somehow i'm never tired of watching new ppl and their ways or just looking out of the window forever. really weird!

3.Earphones:- till date have used 9 pairs of earphones and 4 mp3 players in my quest for good audio quality. i'm not and audiophile but i do love good sounding music! currently using my nokia phone and the noise canceling ep-630. but still continuing my elusive search for better sound.

4.Sentimental scenes:-If there's a good sentimental scene i try and shed a few tears. however if its too glycerine induced, i laugh out loudly. really loudly. while some people may find it terribly annoying i think salvaging humour(of the non existent type) from a bad scene is correct.

5.Sweet tooth:-this is sort of a confession. i love sweet stuff. it may be anything from something at home to sugar coated liv.52 and gasex i love them all(i still think liv.52 i some sort of medicinal gems! :P)

6.Music:-i usually prune my music collection to not more than 2 gb of my favourites put them on my player and listen in random/shuffle mode. since they're personalized i prefer to listen them this way. and save a bit of player and hdd space. :P

7.Computer addict:- sorta of a confession but i think most ppl know abt it already. i cant live without the comp. give me a fresh installed copy of xp without net i could still be tweaking hosts files and display settings . obsessed with my comp.

8.Sleeping with my eyes open:- i love this habit of mine. i doze of periodically with my eyes wide open. i will be nodding my head like a donkey while probably turning off my mind completely. other wise i'm off to dream land.. but i can somehow crashland back in case of an emergency! :P

transliterator

One of the greatest difficulties i had in my life was probably facing my 10th tamil exam. To be frank i sucked at the language and i am glad i passed the paper(i can speak a bit of English so am not illiterate :P). but always felt the need to learn to use my mother tongue decently. Thanks to some tech i can post in tamil without the need to remember my basics. All thanks to this trans-literator created by iit-m.

The software featured today is one of my favorites. Its called unlocker. what it does is let u delete files that normally cannot be deleted because windows is using it. Its a small file and all you need to do is right click on the file to delete click unlocker and follow the instructions. Perfect for those hard to delete malware.
